
Europe witnessed a 4.1% rise in IT hiring activity in the oil & gas industry in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
August 2022 has seen an increase of 0.8% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 5.58% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering an increase of 0.12% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 45.15% in August 2022, an 84.03% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 22.27% in August 2022, marking a 3.85% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 14.23% in August 2022, a flat growth from July 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 12.37% in August 2022, an 11.11% rise over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 80.8% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s oil & gas industry during August 2022 over previous month.
Hera posted 100 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Clariant with 45 jobs and a 45.16% growth. Shell with 31 IT jobs and Sika with 27 jobs, recorded a 24.39% drop and a 6.9% drop, respectively, while Yara International recorded a 4.17% decline with 23 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s oil & gas industry
Italy commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 22.06% share in August 2022, a 2575% increase over July 2022. The UK featured next with a 21.24% share, down 10.43% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 17.94% share, a growth of 11.54% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.88%, up by 35.79% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.11% share, registered a growth of 16.9% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.01% share, down 33.33% over July 2022.
