
India’s oil & gas industry registered an 8.5% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.75% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 16.74% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 2.44% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.05% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s oil & gas industry in July 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 51.58% in July 2022, registering a 9.01% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 15.82% share, a decrease of 4.41% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 14.36%, registering a 9.23% decline from June 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 10.22%, up 16.67% over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 2.62% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s oil & gas industry during July 2022 over June 2022.
Shell posted 141 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a rise of 1.44% over the previous month, followed by PI Industries with 79 jobs and a 41.07% growth. Koch Industries with 33 IT jobs and Baker Hughes with 32 jobs, recorded a 32.65% decline and a 14.29% growth, respectively, while Yara International recorded a decline of 15.15% with 28 job postings during July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.2%, down by 4.94% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 40.15% share, registered a decline of 0.6% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 3.65% share, down 11.76% over June 2022.
