UK-based company John Wood Group’s IT hiring rose 8.5% in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 4.14% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 3.28% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2022, and recorded a 0.02% decline over the last three-month average share.
Database and Network Administrators and Architects tops John Wood Group IT hiring in August 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by John Wood Group, Database and Network Administrators and Architects emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 62.07% in August 2022, and a 20% rise over July 2022, while Computer and Information Analysts claimed a share of 20.69% in August 2022, and registered growth of 100%. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 13.79% in August 2022, a 100% rise from July 2022.
North America drives IT hiring at John Wood Group
North America emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in August 2022 with a 41.38% share, which marked a 50% rise over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 27.59%, registering a 14.29% month-on-month growth. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 24.14% share and a 75% rise over July 2022.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 6.9% and a month-on-month decline of 33.33%.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 34.48% share in August 2022, a 66.67% growth over July 2022. The UK featured next with a 24.14% share, flat growth over the previous month. India recorded a 17.24% share, an increase of 400% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead John Wood Group IT hiring activity in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.72%, down by 6.25% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 41.38% share, a growth of 500% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Senior job ads with a 6.9% share, down 33.33% over July 2022.
