Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.56% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 1.73% over the last three-month average share.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 21.88% share, an increase of 75% over the previous month.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 30.3% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Malaysia’s oil & gas industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
BASF posted 8 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a drop of 50% over the previous month, followed by Shell with 5 jobs and a 54.55% drop. Worley with 4 IT jobs and Evonik Industries with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Petronas Dagangan recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.38%, down by 24% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 31.25% share, registered a decline of 16.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.38% share, down 40% over August 2022.
