August 2022 has seen an increase of 2% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.84% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering an increase of 0.88% over the last three-month average share.
Computer and Information Analysts Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Computer and Information Analysts Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 34% in August 2022, a 142.86% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 34% in August 2022, marking a 54.55% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 20% in August 2022, an 11.11% rise from July 2022.
Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 8% in August 2022, a 20% decline over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 72.22% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s oil & gas industry during August 2022 over previous month.
Clariant posted 8 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered an increase of 100% over the previous month, followed by Baker Hughes with 7 jobs and a 12.5% drop. Sasol with 6 IT jobs and Saudi Arabian Oil with 6 jobs, recorded a 200% rise and a 500% rise, respectively, while Qatar Gas Transport recorded a 33.33% increase with 4 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s oil & gas industry
Saudi Arabia commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 20% share in August 2022, an 11.11% increase over July 2022. South Africa featured next with a 16% share, up 33.33% over the previous month. Sudan recorded a 16% share, a growth of 100% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64%, up by 28% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 28% share, registered a growth of 55.56% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8% share, down 20% over July 2022.
