Singapore’s oil & gas industry registered a 1.7% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 0.58% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.94% share in August 2022, recording an increase of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Singapore’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s oil & gas industry in August 2022.

1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 53.85% in August 2022, registering an 86.67% growth over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 21.15% share, a decrease of 35.29% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 13.46%, registering a 16.67% rise from July 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 7.69%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in Singapore’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 55.17% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s oil & gas industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

Keppel posted 25 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 212.5% over the previous month, followed by Yara International with 8 jobs and a 27.27% drop. Exxon Mobil with 6 IT jobs and Halliburton with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Worley recorded an increase of 200% with 3 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.38%, up by 25.93% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 23.08% share, registered an increase of 100% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 11.54% share, down 53.85% over July 2022.
