Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.29% share in December 2021, recording a decrease of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.04% in December 2021, registering an 8.85% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 14.24% share, a decrease of 20% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 13.06%, registering a 14.56% decline from November 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.35%, down 25.88% over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 9.4% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s oil & gas industry during December 2021 over November 2021.
Exxon Mobil posted 58 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a rise of 1.75% over the previous month, followed by TotalEnergies with 56 jobs and a 33.33% growth. Sasol with 39 IT jobs and Air Products and Chemicals with 30 jobs, recorded a 25% decline and a 50% decrease, respectively, while Henkel AGKGaA recorded an increase of 26.09% with 29 job postings during December 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.09%, down by 9.81% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 23.59% share, registered a decline of 29.96% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.17% share, down 21.15% over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.15%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
