Al-Uqlah Conventional Oil Field, Yemen

Al-Uqlah is a producing conventional oil field located onshore Yemen and is operated by OMV (Yemen Block S 2) Exploration. The field is located in block Al Uqlah (Block S2).

The field is owned by China Petrochemical, OMV, Ministry of Oil and Minerals, Yemen and Yemen Resources.


Production from Al-Uqlah

The Al-Uqlah conventional oil field recovered 55.85% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2010. The peak production was approximately 15 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2042. The field currently accounts for approximately 13% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 33.58 Mmboe, comprised of 33.58 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. Al-Uqlah conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.01% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
