Chim Sao (Blackbird) and Dua is a producing conventional oil field located in shallow water in Vietnam and is operated by Premier Oil Vietnam Offshore. The field is located in block Block 12 W, with water depth of 377 feet.

An expansion project is associated with the Chim Sao (Blackbird) and Dua, namely Chim Sao Infill Development. This project is currently in the feasibility stage.

The field is owned by PT Medco Daya Abadi Lestari, Harbour Energy and Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group.


Production from Chim Sao (Blackbird) and Dua

The Chim Sao (Blackbird) and Dua conventional oil field recovered 84.36% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2014. The peak production was approximately 25.79 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 29 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2028. The field currently accounts for approximately 5% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 17.79 Mmboe, comprised of 13.45 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 26.01 bcf of natural gas reserves.
