Production from Culebra
The Culebra heavy oil field recovered 33.02% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2023. The peak production will approximately 11.57 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 1 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2070. The field currently accounts for approximately 2% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 64.4 Mmboe, comprised of 63.1 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 7.8 bcf of natural gas reserves. Culebra heavy oil field reserves accounts 0.15% of total remaining reserves of producing heavy oil fields globally.
