Kibaale Refinery, Uganda

The Albertine Graben Refinery Consortium will operate the upcoming Kibaale refinery, proposed to be built at Western Region in Uganda. The non integrated refinery will be owned by The Albertine Graben Refinery Consortium, Uganda National Oil, and TotalEnergies and is expected to start operations in 2026.

Crude Distillation Unit (mbd): 30
Vacuum Distillation (mbd): 14
Catalytic Cracker (mbd): 8
Hydrocracker (mbd): 7
Reformer (mbd): 6
Hydrotreater (mbd): 19
Alkylation (mbd): 1
Isomerization (mbd): 2

Subsequent expansion at the Kibaale refinery will increase its refining capacity by 30mbd.

During the period 2021-2025, the Kibaale refinery is expected to witness an estimated capex of $1,940m.
