Margarita-Huacaya Complex is a producing conventional gas field located onshore Bolivia and is operated by Repsol E&P Bolivia. The field is located in block Caipipendi, Margarita, and Huacaya.
An expansion project is associated with the Margarita-Huacaya Complex, namely Margarita Development . This project is currently in the commissioning stage, expected to start in 2022.

Production from Margarita-Huacaya Complex
The Margarita-Huacaya Complex conventional gas field recovered 73.64% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2015. The peak production was approximately 24 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 630 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2032. The field currently accounts for approximately 34% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 144.35 Mmboe, comprised of 39.59 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 628.55 bcf of natural gas reserves. Margarita-Huacaya Complex conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.05% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
