The midstream segment contracts in Europe remained flat in October 2021, when compared with the previous month’s total of 24 contracts, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.
A total of 24 contracts were registered in the midstream segment of Europe during the month, when compared with the last 12-month moving average of 23 contracts.
In terms of the number of contracts in Europe, the upstream segment contributed the most with 123 contracts in October 2021, followed by midstream and downstream segments with 24 and 13 contracts, respectively.
Contract award activity in Europe’s midstream segment during October 2021
In October 2021, Russia led the activity with 11 contracts and a 46% share of the midstream oil and gas contracts in Europe. It saw a decrease of 8% over the previous month’s total of 12 contracts and an increase of 57% when compared with the last 12 month-average of seven contracts in Russia, followed by the UK and Greece with two contracts 8% share each.
Based on 12-month moving average of the contracts in the midstream segment of Europe, Russia took the top spot with seven contracts, followed by Greece and Norway with two contracts each.

During the month, the majority of midstream segment contracts awarded in the Europe were in the design & engineering with 11 contracts, followed by procurement and operations & maintenance with nine and five contracts, respectively.
