Mnazi Bay Complex is a producing conventional gas field located onshore Tanzania and is operated by M&P Exploration and Production Tanzania. The field is located in block Mnazi Bay, with water depth of 1,641 feet.

The field is owned by Tanzania Petroleum Development, Etablissements Maurel & Prom and Wentworth Resources.

Production from Mnazi Bay Complex

The Mnazi Bay Complex conventional gas field recovered 30.79% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2018. The peak production was approximately 83 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2048. The field currently accounts for approximately 51% of the country’s daily output.

The field is expected to recover 57.44 Mmboe, comprised of 344.62 bcf of natural gas reserves. Mnazi Bay Complex conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.02% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
