New Mexico oil and gas production activity up by 0.93% in August 2021

New Mexico witnessed an increase of 0.93% in total oil and gas production to 2,358,967.31 boe/d in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production grew 21.18% in August 2021 from 1,946,693.44 boe/d in August 2020. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2021 increased by 14.19% from the same period in 2020.

In August 2021, oil production grew 1.21% to 1,251,825.23 bd as against the previous month, while gas production up by 0.62% to 6,421.42 mmcf/d.

On a YTD basis, oil production increased by 15.75% in 2021 when compared with the same period in 2020, while gas production rose by 12.52%. Out of the total oil and gas production in August 2021, oil held a 53.07% share, while gas had a 46.93% share.

In New Mexico, EOG Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 372,347.79 boe/d in August 2021, an increase of 7.93% from the previous month. The company held a 19.14% share in oil production and 11.99% share in gas production in August 2021.

On a YTD basis, the company registered a 43.66% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2020.

Compared with other counties in New Mexico, Lea county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 45.75% share in August 2021. The county witnessed a 1.63% increase in production to 1,079,211.94 boe/d in August 2021 when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, Lea registered an increase of 21.03% in total production from the same period in 2020.
