Niobrara Shale witnessed a decrease of 0.03% in total oil and gas production to 3,52,998.04 boe/d in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production in Niobrara declined 15.15% in February 2022 from 4,16,020.5 boe/d in February 2021. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in the play decreased by 15.47% from the same period in 2021.
In Niobrara, oil production grew 2.92% in February 2022 as compared with the previous month, while gas production decreased by 0.23% to 1,910.16 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production in the play decreased by 16.39% in 2022 when compared with the same period in 2021, while gas production declined by 15.4%. Out of the total oil and gas production in February 2022, oil held a 6.7% share, while gas had a 93.3% share.
In Niobrara, Ultra Petroleum emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 1,20,438.02 boe/d in February 2022, a decrease of 0.99% from the previous month. The company held an 18.96% share in oil production and 35.21% share in gas production in February 2022.
On a YTD basis, the company registered an 18.6% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2021.
Compared with other counties within Niobrara Shale, Sublette county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 58.48% share in February 2022. The county witnessed a 1.1% decrease in production to 2,06,449.12 boe/d in February 2022 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, it registered a decline of 17.28% in total production from the same period in 2021.
