North Dakota witnessed a decrease of 2.27% in total oil and gas production to 15,53,445.54 boe/d in January 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production declined 4.49% in January 2022 from 16,26,411.76 boe/d in January 2021. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2022 decreased by 4.49% from the same period in 2021.
In January 2022, oil production declined 1.67% to 10,66,430.85 bd as against the previous month, while gas production declined by 3.58% to 2,824.69 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 6.06% in 2022 when compared with the same period in 2021, while gas production declined by 0.84%. Out of the total oil and gas production in January 2022, oil held a 68.65% share, while gas had a 31.35% share.
In North Dakota, Continental Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 2,71,589.37 boe/d in January 2022 from the previous month. The company held a 17.05% share in oil production and 18.43% share in gas production in January 2022.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 20.2% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2021.
Compared with other counties in North Dakota, Mckenzie county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 39.51% share in January 2022. The county witnessed in production to 6,13,784.55 boe/d in January 2022 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, Mckenzie registered a decline of 14.59% in total production from the same period in 2021.
