Field participation details

The field is owned by Chevron, Chubu Electric Power, Exxon Mobil, Osaka Gas, Shell, Tokyo Electric Power Co Holdings and Tokyo Gas.

Production from Greater Gorgon

The Greater Gorgon conventional gas field recovered 19.06% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2042. The peak production will approximately 20.00 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate, 276.00 Mmcfd of natural gas and 2,051 Mmcfd of liquid natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2053. The field currently accounts for approximately 13% of the country’s daily output.

Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 3,703.17 Mmboe, comprised of 175.03 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate, 3,096.18 bcf of natural gas reserves and 18,072.65 bcf of liquid natural gas reserves. Greater Gorgon conventional gas field reserves accounts 1.26% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
