Four expansion projects are associated with the North East Bab conventional oil field, namely the North East Bab Rumaitha & Shanayel EOR , the Al-Dabbiya Phase III, the Al Dabbiya Thamama B Transition Zone and the Al Dabbiya Thamama B Transition Zone Phase 2. The expansion projects are currently in the construction stage.

Production from North East Bab

The North East Bab conventional oil field recovered 35.18% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2027. The peak production will approximately 228.20 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2067. The field currently accounts for approximately 4% of the country’s daily output.

Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 1,400.31 Mmboe, comprised of 1,400.31 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. North East Bab conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.31% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
