Oklahoma witnessed a decrease of 5.09% in total oil and gas production to 9,26,870.14 boe/d in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production grew 28.41% in December 2021 from 7,21,809.3 boe/d in December 2020. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2021 increased by 34.49% from the same period in 2020.

In December 2021, oil production declined 6.32% to 3,18,549.84 bd as against the previous month, while gas production declined by 4.44% to 3,528.26 mmcf/d.

On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 12.5% in 2021 when compared with the same period in 2020, while gas production rose by 104.46%. Out of the total oil and gas production in December 2021, oil held a 34.37% share, while gas had a 65.63% share.

In Oklahoma, Continental Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 1,75,106.77 boe/d in December 2021, an increase of 0.03% from the previous month. The company held a 13.61% share in oil production and 21.66% share in gas production in December 2021.

On a YTD basis, the company registered an 85.36% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2020.



Compared with other counties in Oklahoma, Grady county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 17.14% share in December 2021. The county witnessed a 2.65% decrease in production to 1,58,861.17 boe/d in December 2021 when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, Grady registered an increase of 71.45% in total production from the same period in 2020.
