Contracts in the petrochemicals oil and gas segment registered a decrease of 20% with 67 contracts in Q2 2021, when compared with 84 contracts in the previous quarter, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.

The activity marked a decrease of 1%, when compared with the last four-quarter average of 68 contracts.

Asia-Pacific led the contracts activity for petrochemicals segment, with 32 contracts and a 48% share in Q2 2021, followed by Europe and Middle East with 14 (21%) and eight (12%) contracts, respectively.

 

Contracts by scope of work in petrochemicals segment in Q2 2021

During the quarter, the majority of contracts in the petrochemicals segment were awarded in the design & engineering with 53 contracts, followed by procurement and construction with 30 and 17 contracts, respectively.
