Contract activities in petrochemicals segment in Middle East down 25% in November 2021

The petrochemicals segment contracts in Middle East registered a decrease of 25% with three contracts in November 2021, when compared with the previous month’s total of four contracts, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.

A total of three contracts were registered in the petrochemicals segment of Middle East during the month, remained flat when compared with the last 12-month average contracts.


In terms of the number of contracts in Middle East, the upstream segment contributed the most with 31 contracts in November 2021, followed by midstream and petrochemicals segments with 11 and three contracts, respectively.

Contract award activity in Middle East’s petrochemicals segment during November 2021

In November 2021, Saudi Arabia held three contracts and a 100% share of the petrochemicals oil and gas contracts in Middle East. It saw an increase of 200% over the previous month’s total of one contract and an increase of 200% when compared with the last 12 month-average of one contract in Saudi Arabia.

Based on 12-month moving average of the contracts in the petrochemicals segment of Middle East, Saudi Arabia held with one contract.

During the month, the majority of petrochemicals segment contracts awarded in the Middle East were in the construction and design & engineering with one contract each, followed by procurement with one contract.
