Contracts in the pipeline segment in the oil and gas industry registered an increase in activity by 5% in August 2022 with a total of 20 contracts, when compared with the previous month’s total of 19 contracts, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.
A total of 20 contracts were recorded in the pipeline sector globally during the month, when compared with the last 12-month moving average of 36 contracts.
In August 2022, the majority of contracts in the pipeline segment were in the onshore pipeline sub-segment with 15 contracts and a 58% share. Offshore pipeline sub-segment witnessed 11 contracts, during the month.

Europe held the top position with eight contracts and a 40% share during August 2022, followed by Asia-Pacific and North America with five contracts (25%) and four contracts (20%), respectively.

During the month, the majority of contracts in the pipeline segment were awarded in the operations & maintenance with eight contracts, followed by procurement and construction with seven contracts each.
