An expansion project is associated with the Soku, namely Soku Nodal Compression Phase 2. This project is currently in the construction stage, expected to start in 2023.
Field participation details
The field is owned by TotalEnergies, Eni, Shell and Nigerian National Petroleum.
Production from Soku
The Soku conventional gas field recovered 86.71% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2008. The peak production was approximately 25.05 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate, 1,094 Mmcfd of natural gas and 30 Mmcfd of liquid natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2037. The field currently accounts for approximately 2% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 138.32 Mmboe, comprised of 8.69 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 777.78 bcf of natural gas reserves. Soku conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.05% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
