Contracts in the upstream oil and gas segment registered an increase of 5% with a total of 314 contracts in August 2021, when compared with 299 contracts in the previous month, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.
The activity marked a decrease of 2%, when compared with the last 12-month average of 321 contracts.

By comparing contracts related to the upstream segment in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 136 contracts and a 43% share in August 2021, followed by North America and Asia-Pacific with 78 (25%) and 40 (13%) contracts, respectively.

During the month, the majority of contracts in the upstream segment were awarded in the operations & maintenance with 216 contracts, followed by design & engineering and procurement with 76 and 61 contracts, respectively.
