Baker Hughes has secured a significant gas compression technology order for the third phase of Aramco’s Jafurah gas field expansion in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The order, awarded by Spanish general contractor Tecnicas Reunidas, includes six gas compression trains and six propane compressors, and was booked in the fourth quarter of 2024 (Q4 2024).
Baker Hughes will supply electric motor-driven compression solutions through its recently expanded Dammam Center in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
This order further solidifies Baker Hughes’ long-standing partnership with Aramco. The collaboration includes the previous supply of compression solutions for the Haradh and Hawiyah gas plants, the first phase of the Jafurah gas plant and gas compression facilities.
Baker Hughes Industrial & Energy Technology executive vice-president Ganesh Ramaswamy said: “Gas continues to serve as a vital source of reliable, abundant and lower-carbon energy.
“Our advanced gas compression technology will enable efficient and reliable production from the Jafurah field, further supporting Aramco’s vision and contributing to Saudi Arabia’s energy development.”
