Danos Operations Services has secured a contract to provide production services at Beacon Offshore Energy’s new deepwater facility, the Shenandoah floating production system (FPS), in the Gulf of Mexico.

The project, which is nearing the final stages of hook-up, is expected to commence oil production later this summer.

With a capacity of 120,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd), the Shenandoah facility is located approximately 230 miles from New Orleans.

The Shenandoah FPS will employ various professionals, including production operators, instrumentation and electrical technicians, mechanics, and offshore installation managers. The work on the platform began last year.

Danos CEO Paul Danos said: “We are honoured to support Beacon Offshore Energy with production services.

“Danos is a people-focused company, and we’re proud to introduce our new partner to the high-performing employees and strong customer service that define our team.”

Established in 1947, Danos delivers a comprehensive range of services including production, supply chain, and energy systems.

The company also offers fabrication, construction, coatings, and other project services through Performance Energy Services.

Together, these businesses form the backbone of Danos’ 3,300-person workforce, which currently includes 1,300 production services personnel in the region.

Further, Beacon and its associates have approved the subsequent stage of expansion for the Shenandoah project, referred to as “Shenandoah Phase II”.

This phase includes plans to drill and complete two more production wells, increase the throughput capacity of the Shenandoah FPS to 140,000bopd through debottlenecking by early 2026, and fit a subsea booster pump to enhance hydraulic support by mitigating back pressure in the dual infield flowline and riser system.
