US-based engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company KBR has been selected by Freeport LNG Development as the preferred bidder for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contract for Train 4 at its LNG export facility near Freeport, Texas.

KBR provides solutions for aerospace and defence, energy and chemicals, intel and data science, and federal and civilian markets.

KBR president and CEO Stuart Bradie said: “We are excited to be selected for this significant project, and to continue to grow our leadership position in gas monetization.

“This project is firmly in line with our stated corporate strategy to sign up the right work with the right clients, and we appreciate FLNG’s confidence in KBR’s ability to deliver.”

Under the contract, KBR is expected to provide engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and startup of a 5Mtpa LNG train and gas pre-treatment plant for the export of US gas to international markets.

“This project is firmly in line with our stated corporate strategy to sign up the right work with the right clients.”

Freeport LNG has selected KBR following completion of a nine-month front-end engineering and design (FEED) verification, execution planning and EPC proposal process. The fourth train will be similar to the first three trains at the LNG export facility.
