Australia’s integrated multimodal transport provider Kelsian Group has agreed to provide workforce transportation services for the CP2 LNG (liquefied natural gas) project in Louisiana, US.

Hotard Coaches, a subsidiary of Kelsian’s All Aboard America! Holdings (AAAHI), has signed a binding contract with the project’s engineering, procurement and construction contractor Worley Field Services.

The contract, valued at approximately $59m, was awarded to Hotard following a competitive tender process.

Hotard Coaches will provide workforce transportation services for the project’s construction and development phase.

It encompasses a comprehensive transport solution including vehicles, operations, maintenance and onsite management.

The scope and volume of the transportation services will be in line with the project’s milestones and the workforce volume at the construction site, varying throughout the contract period.

Kelsian anticipates that the initial work scope for Hotard will span approximately three years until August 2028.

Kelsian Group chief executive officer Graeme Legh said: “Hotard’s success in winning this contract reflects their operational excellence, scale and significant experience in large-scale workforce transportation services.

“We are honoured to continue serving the Gulf Coast’s industrial sector and are proud to support another important energy infrastructure project with reliable, high-capacity transportation solutions.”

The CP2 LNG terminal facility will be situated on a site of around 1,150 acres adjacent to Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass LNG facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

The associated marine plant will be located on Monkey Island, between the Calcasieu Ship Channel and Calcasieu Pass.

The proposed CP Express natural gas pipeline will originate in Jasper County, Texas, and pass via Newton County, Texas, and Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, before it ends at the CP2 LNG terminal in Cameron Parish.

Earlier this month, Venture Global started full mobilisation and commenced site work at the CP2 LNG project, which is expected to provide US LNG to customers in Europe, Japan and other allies across the world.

The project is expected to support around 3,000 new jobs in Louisiana.
