MSA Safety, a developer, manufacturer and supplier of safety products, has completed the acquisition of M&C TechGroup, a manufacturer of gas analysis solutions and technologies.

The deal, valued at approximately $200m (€177.2m), marks a significant expansion of MSA Safety’s capabilities in the gas detection and analysis market.

M&C TechGroup, headquartered in Ratingen, Germany, offers a wide array of gas analysis systems that detect, measure and monitor gases across various critical environments.

Its product line extends to gas sampling and conditioning systems, as well as advanced process control (APC) technologies.

MSA Safety president and CEO Steve Blanco said: “We are excited to welcome M&C to the MSA Safety family. By bringing aboard M&C, we expand our addressable market in detection, with complementary technologies across diverse markets.

“The acquisition of M&C aligns well with our Accelerate strategy, which includes a focus on growing our detection business and enhancing our portfolio through strategic acquisitions.”

The acquisition brings together MSA Safety’s extensive safety product portfolio with M&C TechGroup’s advanced gas analysis solutions.

M&C TechGroup’s products are employed across diverse industries, from energy, chemicals and utilities to manufacturing and food and beverage.

The company, established in 1985, has a global workforce of around 220 associates.
