BP has launched the Eastern Azeri platform, offshore Azerbaijan, after activities were stopped in order to carry out maintenance activities.
The repairs were carried out as part of a maintenance programme for three offshore platforms: Eastern Azeri, Western Azeri and Central Azeri in the Caspian Sea.

Production will be suspended to ensure effective maintenance, but activity is not expected to be suspended simultaneously.
The scope of work for the Azeri maintenance programme includes general mechanical, instrument and control system activities.
Operations at the Western Azeri platform will be halted later this month.
