Siemens Power and Gas subsidiary Dresser-Rand is set to supply power generation equipment for two Chinese offshore projects, as part of two separate orders.
The contracts were signed with China National Offshore Oil (CNOOC) for the Penglai 19-3 oil field project and Harbin Guanghan Gas Turbine (HGGT) for the Dongfang 13-2 gas field development respectively.
Dresser-Rand business New Equipment Solutions head Matthew Chinn said: “Both contracts exemplify the confidence our clients place in us because of our track record of high-quality, advanced technology solutions for offshore power generation needs that ultimately serve to lower our clients’ total lifecycle costs.”
Dresser-Rand will supply two SGT-A30 RB power-generation trains for the Penglai oil field in Bohai Bay, which was initially discovered in 1999.
The SGT-A30 RB gas turbine features high output capabilities and is ideal for reducing various project risks.
Penglai field’s 30MW ISO power-rating SGT-A30 RB turbines are reportedly the first offshore aeroderivative gas turbine packages that Dresser-Rand has sold to CNOOC.
