Italian integrated energy company Eni has awarded a two-year framework to Atkins for the provision of general engineering services.

As part of the framework, which includes an opportunity to extend for one more year, Atkins will provide engineering and consultancy services to the energy firm across its portfolio of operating assets located in Australia.

Atkins will also provide support across the non-operating assets of ENI, as well as any future developments.

According to the UK-based engineering, design, planning, project management and consulting services company Atkins, the assets include the Blacktip Field (WHP and onshore gas plant) and the Kitan Field.

"Atkins will also provide support across the non-operating assets of ENI, as well as any future developments."

Atkins Oil and Gas in Perth operations director Nick Wells said: "Having previously worked on a number of projects with ENI in Australia, we have been able to build on the quality of these previous engagements and further demonstrate our ability to respond to the multidisciplinary technical demands and challenges that face our industry.

"The broad scope of activity involved will be led and delivered from our regional hub here in Perth, supported by expertise and personnel from our other international oil and gas hubs in the UK, Middle East and US."

With the new framework in place, Atkins will have an opportunity to establish its track record and international collaboration within the region further, and can also help ENI to achieve its objectives safely.

Atkins’ oil and gas experience in Australia includes Apache‘s Varanus Island Compression Project, Inpex‘s Ichthys flow assurance work and Woodside’s Pluto project.

Atkins has offices across the UK, Middle East, North America, Asia Pacific and Europe.
