Total E&P Nigeria has made a new oil discovery in the Etisong North-1 well, which is located in mining lease OML 102, 65km off the south-east coast of Nigeria.
The well was drilled to a total depth of 2,387m in 80m of water, and one of the three reservoirs encountered tested at 8,500bpd of 40° API oil.

Total E&P Nigeria is operator of OML 102 with a 40% interest, while its partner NNPC holds the remaining stake.
Deepwater developments are one of Total’s main growth avenues in Africa, particularly Nigeria, where the company operates the Akpo field in OML 130.
