Wood Group has secured a $500m contract with BP-operated projects to deliver services to eight offshore platforms off the coast of Azerbaijan.

Under the five-year contract, the company’s division Wood Group PSN (WGPSN) will provide services including engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) for the platforms. The contract also has the option of two further two-year extensions.

During the contract term, WGPSN is expected to create around 200 jobs.

The company will support offshore platforms such as Chirag, Central Azeri – Production Drilling Quarters, Central Azeri – Compression and Water Processing, East Azeri Production Drilling Quarters, West Azeri- Production Drilling Quarters.

Other platforms being served are Deep Water Gunashli – Drilling & Utility Quarters, Deep Water Gunashli – Pressure Compression and Water Utilities and Shah Deniz Stage 1.

As part of a contract announced in October 2015, Wood Group Kenny is already providing subsea engineering services to these platforms.

The contract also includes support of existing subsea infrastructure of BP in the Gulf of Mexico, and UK and Norwegian continental shelves.
