By GlobalDataThe refinery is expected to begin operations by early 2019.
In October 2014, a joint venture of Technip and Fluor secured an engineering, procurement and construction management contract for the RAPID project.
The contract, which was secured from PRPC Utilities and Facilities, covers the utilities, interconnecting and offsites (UIO) scope of work.
Technip’s operating centre in Kuala Lumpur will manage the latest deal. The JV was also awarded the programme management consultancy contract for the project.
The RAPID project refinery will produce gasoline and diesel which will meet Euro 4 and Euro 5 fuel specifications. It will also supply feedstock for the petrochemical complex which will produce highly-specialised chemicals.
