Petro Services has secured a contract from TotalEnergies and its partners on Block 17 offshore Angola, for work related to the Pazflor floating production storage and offloading (FPSO).

Under the contract, marine construction contractor Ocean Installer will serve as the main subcontractor to Petro Services to undertake umbilical recovery and reinstallation work on the Pazflor FPSO.

Petro Services will be responsible for the project management activities for the project. It will execute in-country support operations.

Ocean Installer said the umbilical repair project is due to be executed later in 2023.

The company, as the main subcontractor, will be responsible for the recovery and reinstallation of the production-critical umbilical.

Petro Services CEO Alexander Haly said: “This is our first award with Ocean Installer as our main selected subcontractor, which we embrace. We are confident that the different skill sets of both Ocean Installer and Petro Services will complement one another, ensuring we deliver a successful execution of project for TotalEnergies EP Angola.”

Ocean Installer said its project management and engineering teams from offices in Houston, US, and Stavanger, Norway, offices will support the contract work.

Petro Services will provide support from its offices in Luanda, Angola and Monaco.

Earlier this year, a consortium including Oceaneering was selected to support transportation and installation work on the Girassol Life Extension project in Block 17 offshore Angola.

Under the contract, the work scope includes air and saturation diving services, project management, engineering and procurement activities in support of the prime contractor’s recovery and replacement of 12 risers.
