Qatar Petroleum has signed a 15-year agreement to supply LNG to the CPC Corporation, Taiwan (CPC).
Under the Sale and purchase agreement (SPA), Qatar Petroleum will supply 1.25 million tons per annum (Mtpa) of LNG to Taiwan’s state-owned petroleum, natural gas, and gasoline company.
Effective from January 2022, the firm will commence LNG deliveries to CPC’s receiving LNG terminals.
Qatar Petroleum said in a statement: “This SPA further demonstrates the State of Qatar’s continued commitment to meeting the growing energy requirements of its customers around the world in the form of reliable long-term LNG supplies.”
Qatar Petroleum president and CEO and Qatar Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi said: “We are pleased to enter this long-term LNG SPA, which is another milestone in our relationship with CPC, which dates back to almost three decades.
Since March 2006, state-owned Qatar Petroleum has so far delivered more than 63 million tonnes of LNG to CPC.

By GlobalDataQatar Petroleum recently signed a ten-year agreement with Shell to supply one million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG to various LNG terminals in China.
QP plans to start the LNG deliveries from January 2022. It will supply from its Qatargas Liquefied Natural Gas (QG1) project.
OG1 is jointly owned by Qatar Petroleum (65%), ExxonMobil (10%), Total (10%), Mitsui (7.5%), and Marubeni (7.5%).
In March 2021, Qatar Petroleum said that it will become the sole owner of QG1, the holding company of an LNG project in Qatar. This will be effective from January next year.
