Seabed Geosolutions has won a contract to perform a baseline 4D ocean bottom node (OBN) survey and a future 4D monitor OBN survey in the Brazilian waters.
The project will take place in water depths over 2,200m.
Seabed Geosolutions noted that the baseline survey is expected to begin in the second quarter of next year.
According to the company, the total combined duration of both surveys would take approximately eight months.
Seabed Geosolutions CEO Stephan Midenet said: “We are delighted to be awarded another high-profile, deepwater OBN project in Brazil. We are honoured by the renewed confidence expressed by our clients for what will be our sixth project in Brazil, a core OBN market.
“We are confident that our proprietary OBN technology, coupled with our extensive expertise in Brazil, will again aid in illuminating our client’s objectives with superior data quality needed to meet their development goals.”
Seabed Geosolutions is a provider of ocean bottom seismic (OBS) solutions to the global oil and gas (O&G) industry.
It is a joint venture (JV) between Fugro and CGG.
In May last year, CGG commenced its first multi-client OBN survey in the US Gulf of Mexico.
