Oil and gas exploration and development firm Serinus Energy has concluded drilling of the Moftinu-1007 well in the Satu Mare concession in Romania.

The well was drilled to a total planned depth of 1,463m and around 20% below budget.

The company has mobilised a snubbing unit to perform the well completion operations, which have now commenced.

According to the log analysis performed during the drilling operations, the company identified three gas-bearing Pliocene zones.

The Moftinu-1007 hit three sand formations, namely A1, A2 and A3, which will be perforated and tested during the current completion and testing operations on the well that are scheduled to run for two weeks.

“Construction of the flowline to move gas from the well site to the Moftinu gas plant is in progress.”

Construction of the flowline to move gas from the well site to the Moftinu gas plant is in progress.

According to the company, the plant construction is proceeding, with the pre-commissioning and commissioning set to take place later this month.

First gas will be transported from Moftinu-1000, while gas from Moftinu-1007 will be added to the commissioning process next month.

A low-temperature separation unit and a triethylene glycol unit are set to be installed on-site by the end of August.

Serinus is currently finalising a deal with a gas trader to handle sales volumes on its behalf.

Civil works have started in preparation for the drilling of the Moftinu-1003 well.

The company is looking for suitable rigs for the drilling of Moftinu-1003 and Moftinu-1004.

Discovered in 2014, the Moftinu discovery is a shallow-gas multi-zone field.
