Vallourec has secured a contract from Thailand’s national oil exploration and production company PTTEP to deliver more than 3,000 tonnes of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) for its Myanmar M9 West exploration well.

OCTG includes various rolled products, including drill pipe, casing and tubing used in offshore applications.

The project work will be delivered by Vallourec’s subsidiary in Indonesia, supported by Vallourec pipe mills in Brazil, China and Germany.

Vallourec South East Asia commercial director Alexandre Valdelievre said: “We are absolutely delighted to be entrusted with this contract, which truly reflects the benefits of our new regional organisation.

Vallourec unit VAM Field Services (VFS) will also be associated with the Myanmar offshore project. VFS will be present on the rig to ensure smooth running of the well, reduce associated risks and enhance efficiency.

The PTTEP drilling engineering team said: “Safety, quality and value for money are the key success factors for our operations, which is why we selected Vallourec for our project.
