Australia-based engineering services firm WorleyParsons has secured two project management consultancy (PMC) contracts in the Middle East.
Under the terms of the first contract, WorleyParsons will offer PMC services for Kuwait Oil Company’s (KOC) Kuwait Environmental Remediation Programme (KERP), which is funded by the United Nations (UN).
The KERP programme is an environmental remediation and restoration initiative aimed to repair oil contamination within KOC oilfields, dating back to the 1991 Gulf War.
WorleyParsons CEO Andrew Wood said: “We are delighted that KOC has chosen WorleyParsons for this internationally significant project and we look forward to supporting KOC with their on-going programme of environmental remediation.”
The second contract was awarded by Adnoc Refining for the crude flexibility project at the Ruwais Refinery in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The project is part of Adnoc’s programme to expedite its downstream strategy delivery through the expansion of its crude processing options.

By GlobalDataAs part of the expansion, the company intends to build new facilities and modify existing installations to process offshore crude at the refinery.
The contract requires WorleyParsons to supervise the performance of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor through detailed design and procurement phases over the next 14 months.
The company will then send its team to the Ruwais Refinery site to oversee construction and commissioning works until final delivery of the project in 2022.
