Baker Hughes has secured three significant contracts to supply equipment and services for the expansion of Cheniere’s Sabine Pass LNG facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, US.

The awards were made in the second quarter by Bechtel Energy and Cheniere.

The contracts cover the supply of primary liquefaction equipment for Train 7, a boil-off gas re-liquefaction unit and a site-wide upgrade of gas turbine technology across the fleet.

The company is set to deliver seven PGT25+ G4 gas turbines and 15 centrifugal compressors for Train 7, which is expected to add more than six million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) production capacity.

Baker Hughes chairman and CEO Lorenzo Simonelli said: “These comprehensive technology solutions, from advanced liquefaction equipment to life cycle services, help our customers expand LNG production and meet growing energy demand.

“Our differentiated portfolio of equipment, technologies and services enables us to deliver comprehensive solutions that help customers accelerate project execution, enhance reliability and unlock long-term value.”

In addition, Baker Hughes will implement upgrades to the entire fleet of installed PGT25+ G4 gas turbines at Sabine Pass over four years.

The upgrades are designed to increase turbine power output and support LNG production across the facility’s current capacity of approximately 30mtpa.

According to the company, this expansion and the associated technology upgrades are intended to meet growing global demand for natural gas and support energy and industrial uses.

The combined projects are expected to significantly increase Sabine Pass's LNG output to ensure a reliable and affordable energy supply.

Cheniere chairman, president and CEO Jack Fusco said: “We are pleased to continue our decades-long collaboration with Baker Hughes, a key partner in the development of Sabine Pass into one of the largest LNG facilities in the world.

“These equipment orders, life cycle services and technology upgrades are critical to facilitate further optimisation and efficiency upgrades throughout the Cheniere platform.”

In May 2026, Cheniere Energy Partners’ subsidiary, Sabine Pass Liquefaction Stage V, signed a lump sum, turnkey engineering, procurement and construction contract with Bechtel Energy for phase one of the SPL Expansion Project.
