Tethys Oil has completed testing of the Farha South-5 well (FS-5) on block 3 as part of the Oman onshore 2010 drilling programme.

FS-5 flowed at a rate of over 1,500bopd from a 160m-long horizontal section in the Barik formation using an electric submersible pump (ESP), and is being produced into the Farha South Early Production System for a long-term production test.

The FS-5 was drilled as a step-out exploration well 6.8km north-east of discovery well FS-3 with a pilot hole drilled to a depth of 2,370m in early October 2010.

A pump was installed and the well was placed in production with an average daily production rate of 1,500bopd of 44° API gravity.
