Cooper Energy has plugged and abandoned the Parham-1 well, which is located in PEL 92, Butlers oilfield, Australia, due to the absence of hydrocarbons.

The firm spudded the Parham-1 well last week with Namur Sandstone as the primary objective and the Birkhead, Poolowanna and Kalladeina formations as secondary objectives.

The firm drilled the well to a total depth of 1,826m, and has run and interpreted wireline logs at the well, but confirmed the absence of hydrocarbons in all objective horizons.

With the closing of the Parham well, the firm plans to spud the Stenhouse-1 well and will move the rig to the site.
