Ascent Resources has completed the drilling of the Pg-10 well at the Petisovci project in Slovenia.

The company drilled the well to a total depth of 3,545m and confirmed the presence of 123m of an additional net reservoir with 63m of good-to-moderate sand quality, and another 60m of poorer quality sands in a 370m gross reservoir section.

Ascent will mobilise the fracturing equipment in September 2011.

The firm’s managing director Jeremy Eng said that the latest result will allow Ascent to focus on the fracture stimulation of Pg-10 and Pg-11A to unlock the significant intrinsic value of the project.
