Foster Wheeler is to provide project management consultancy (PMC) services for the Iraq Crude Oil Export Expansion Project of the South Oil Company (SOC).
The PMC services will be onshore for the project in southern Iraq and offshore in Iraqi waters.
The project comprises the installation of two new onshore and offshore pipelines, three single point moorings, a central manifold and a metering platform.
Due for completion by July 2013, the project will increase Basra’s export capacity to 4.5 million bpd by 2014 from 1.8 million bpd.
Foster Wheeler’s work will include monitoring and administering purchase orders and contracts placed by SOC in line with its recommendations during the execution of the basic engineering contract.
The orders and contracts include critical long-lead equipment items such as valves, a linepipe and single-point moorings along as well as offshore and onshore engineering, procurement and construction.
