Atlas Copco has secured an order to deliver turbocompressors at an onshore LNG plant facility for the Ichthys LNG Project located in the Browse Basin, Western Australia.
Under the $17m order placed by the JKC Australia LNG, turboexpanders and air compressors are to be delivered by the third quarter of 2013.
Atlas Copco turboexpanders will be used in gas treatment, while the three-stage air compressors will produce instrument air for use at the onshore plant for the project.
Atlas Copco Compressor Technique business area president Stephan Kuhn said, "Atlas Copco’s substantial LNG knowledge and references, combined with our ability to meet the precise and rigorous specifications of this project, helped us win this order."
The project, operated by INPEX Corporation with partner Total, will produce liquefied natural gas (LNG) using natural gas from the Ichthys Field.
