Smitsvonk - Ignition Systems

Smitsvonk specialises in ignition systems for industrial applications including gas ignition burners, pilot burners for flares, ignitions units, spark plugs and ignition torches.

The ignition systems made by Smitsvonk are based on capacitor discharge, a reliable principle that allows continuous operation under the worst possible conditions - year in year out. Moisture, dirt, water and oil do not affect the performance of the ignition system.

Smitsvonk ignition systems are used for a host of industrial combustion processes, ranging from small-scale applications such as the ignition of baking ovens to the ignition of burners in pulverised coal-fired power stations. However our main focus of attention is the petrochemical industry, on and off shore, for flares, burners and incineration systems.

You will often find Smitsvonk ignition systems in equipment manufactured by others. Smitsvonk offers customised products and, therefore, can respond very flexibly to customer needs, for example where high temperatures hamper traditional ignition or where sustained trouble free operation is a prerequisite.

In manufacturing our products, we use standard components of our own design, which means that there are no problems in the subsequent delivery of the product. A lasting supply of spare parts is guaranteed, even for equipment installed decades ago.

Smitsvonk has its own shop and test facilities in which all the products are made and functionally tested.

We have supplied over 20 mobile units in well test application, over 50 pilots for production platforms in Middle East and Northsea and over 1000 electric pilots for on shore application are in operation.
