Offshore Scaffolding Sales - Scaffolding Equipment for the Oil and Petro-Chemical Industry

Offshore Scaffolding Sales is a partnership between Caspian Access and Plant Hire Ltd based in Grimsby and Global Building Supplies Ltd based in Norfolk. Both companies have extensive experience in supplying scaffolding equipment to major offshore projects. We pride ourselves in providing the internationally recognised CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) with much of their scaffolding requirements. We can supply a full range of scaffolding equipment for the oil and petro-chemical industry.

Past projects include supplying scaffolding for the BPTT project on the Cassia platform off the South East coast of Trinidad in the West Indies and the joint venture between Bechtel-Enka for the second generation project in Tengis, Kazakhstan.

SCAFFOLD TUBE

Scaffold tube is available in either galvanised steel or aluminium with the following dimensions:

  • Nominal outside diameter - 48.3mm
  • Wall thickness - 4.0mm
  • Lengths available between - 0.3m (1ft) and 6.3m (21ft)

SCAFFOLD FITTINGS - DOUBLE COUPLER, SWIVEL COUPLER AND PUTLOG COUPLER

Range of scaffold fittings available includes:

  • Double coupler

  • Girder coupler
  • Joint pin
  • Base plate
  • 8in scaffold castor

SCAFFOLD BOARDS - VISUALLY GRADED BOARDS AND MACHINE GRADED BOARDS

These scaffold boards fully comply with the standards issued by the British Standards Institute and are monitored for quality under our ISO9003 accreditation. The BSI licence held by Caspian is applicable to both visually graded boards and machine graded boards. All BS2482:1981 scaffold boards are marked with the following information, which is embossed on to the end plates:

  • BS2482 and the BSI Kite mark
  • The Caspian BSI License Number - KM 55149
  • The letters VG (Visually Graded) or MG (Machine Graded), as specified by the customer
  • Customer details (if applicable)
  • The words 'support every l.5m max'

Size Range (38mm x 225mm) includes:

  • 13ft (3.9m) tooth type end band
  • 10ft (3.0m) tooth type end band
  • 8ft (2.4m) tooth type end band
  • 6ft (1.8m) nailed end bands using clout nail 30mm x 3mm
  • 5ft (1.5m) nailed end bands using clout nail 30mm x 3mm

FIRE RETARDANCY - CHEMICAL IMPREGNATION TECHNIQUES

Flame and fire retardant scaffold boards are also available from our range. Using chemical impregnation techniques, both the flame and fire retardant treatments are guaranteed 'leach free'. Suitable fire retardant treatments are Dricon and Pyroguard as recommended by the National Access and Scaffolding Confederation (NASC).

LAMINATED SCAFFOLD BOARDS

Globalscaff™ LVL Scaffolding Boards is an engineered timber product specifically for use as a Scaffold Board. The unique process by which it is manufactured avoids the natural defects found in solid sawn timber.

Natural characteristics such as knots and wane are rearranged to maximise strength and minimize warping and splitting.

The timber used is of best quality European Whitewood, Poplars and Asian Pine is selected for the manufacture of Globalscaff™ boards. Timber used is selected from top quality mills that can guarantee that all the timber is from sustainable forests either to their natural standards or to the FSC Standards covering the earth’s natural resources.

Timber selected for Globalscaff™ boards is selected by quality controlled assurance through Globatrac™ Ltd Quality Control employees.

Globalscaff™ LVL scaffold boards are:

  • Homogeneous and have superior strength properties
  • Proof tested to ensure compliance to OSHA, ANSI, A10.8-2001 and CSAS269.2-M87 Standards and individually stamped accordingly
  • Exceeds BS2482 standards
  • Manufactured from best quality European Whitewood, poplars and Asian pine making it a lightweight scaffold board
  • Remarkably durable due to its use of critically selected timber veneers and Phenolic marine glue
  • Manufactured to ISO9001 quality certification system and is inspected under the guidance of an independent nationally recognised inspection agency
